Yachting In Dubai

Finally I'm getting some time to sit down and write another blog post. It's been too long!

February was a very busy month here. We were first travelling to India (I still can't believe it's only a 2.5 hour flight from Dubai to Mumbai!), and then we had family and friends visiting over 2 weeks. After which I needed a day to myself to literally do nothing, and then of course I got back into the groove of things.

We recently had some friends visiting from the US, and amongst the many touristy things we did - yachting was one of them. Though I'm not sure if 'touristy' is the right word as many of the residents here go boating regularly.

This was the first time since my husband and I moved here that we had been out on the sea, and it was absolutely fabulous.

We booked with the company Xclusive Yachts for 3 hours on the Persian Gulf.

Starting out at the marina, myself, my husband and 8 of our friends met at the yacht where we loaded up the boat with snacks and drinks and off we went!

The yacht took us around the marina, past Zero Gravity, in front of the Burj Al Arab, then the Atlantis, and then stopped on the sea where with good music, good drinks and good friends we danced the few hours we had left away!

And the yacht? It was gorgeous.

They have laid a red carpet for us as we entered the boat; the company had sent the boat captain plus 2 servers who served us drinks and got the snacks ready.

The yacht featured an indoor lounge area and 4 bedrooms each with its own bathroom. You could also go to the front of the boat where there was a sitting area, or at the top where the captain is and where there are two additionally sitting areas.

Plus, they kindly upgraded us from a a 70ft yacht to a 78ft yacht - which, with only 10 people on board, mostly went unused- but we didn't care!

Even though the weather was not great (grey and sprinkles of rain), we thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait to go again.
