Prabuddha Dasgupta

As many of you have heard, the fashion and photography world has lost an amazing photographer - Prabuddha Dasgupta.

Prabuddha is known throughout the fashion world for his black and white photography and creating a new visual style of photography in the Indian fashion industry during the 90s. His work has been published internationally in the USA, Italy, France and India, and in fashion magazines Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Marie Claire and Elle.

Prabuddha's name became heightened in 1996 with his controversial book 'Women' (Viking Books), this book broke society's rules in India by publishing portraits and nudes of urban Indian women. He raised the bar for photographers all over the world and will be dearly missed.

Prabuddha passed away on Sunday, August 12 at the age of 58 in Mumbai during a photo shoot. Below is some beautiful work by the late photographer.
