Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2012 - Day 5

The fifth and final day of Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2012 brought some collections that are quite similar to shows that we've already seen during this fashion week (I haven't included those in this post) and some that are very different. I do prefer the Indian collections over the western collections- primarily because the western collections are very 'been there, done that' when compared to the international fashion weeks. Eastern prints are huge for the fall and I think that if the designers stuck with more of a fusion feel (such as Anita Dongre's collection) they could really have a huge advantage! Below are my favourites of the day.

Amrita Thakur
A very pretty fashion show with great colours - we're seeing pastels, neons, golds and silvers. Great inspiration for party wear. Definitely a much more simple collection when compared against the other Lakme Fashion Week Indian wear collections this season.

Nishka Lulla
Great ready to wear collection by Nishka Lulla. Casual prints and silk fabrics used through out this collection create a dressy but comfortable feel. I would definitely wear the trousers and jumpsuits.

Surya Sarkar
White laser cut collection with interesting Moscow inspired designs. Love the men's blazer below.

Nupur Kanoi
This collection has a lot of different things going on. I do like the clothing- especially the prints and the suits, but I'm not sure where the designer is trying to go with the collection.

Archana Kochhar
Want this collection! Geometric and checkered prints on beautiful saris, dresses, skirts and blouses give this collection an edge.

Neeta Lulla
'Radha' by Neeta Lulla and Forever Jewellery is a stunning and elegant display of fashion that (in my opinion) sets the tone for bridal wear this year. This collection is very different from the other bridal wear collections, from the colours to the fabrics - silks, brocade and a bit of net. There's quite a bit of inspiration from nature as well. Love it.
