Hermes Silk Sari Colleciton

I can't believe it! Hermes has launched a limited time collection of silk saris at its Mumbai store for October 2011 after nearly 10 years. The collection will include four silk prints with blouses purchased separately for an additional cost. These saris were designed by artistic director Pierre-Alexis Dumas in the Hermes Lyon workshops. Want, want, want!!!

Pastels and Net for 2012

Amazing Neeta Lulla has done it again! Her collection at Aamby Valley Fashion Week 2011 ranged of pastel coloured saris and lenghas. I love how the saris are kept simple with heavier borders, whereas the lenghas are completely bridal with contrasting colours and a huge amount of intricate work. The only difference I would have liked to see in not only this collection, but all of the collections at the Aamby Valley Fashion Week 2011, is the use of net and velvet. It's been almost two years now, we need to see something different! Everything on the runway is starting to fit the same mold... my fashion needs yearn for more...

Pop that Thing

One of my favorite trends for this season is colour blocking. I love the pop of brightness that it adds to the day. I strongly believe that the way you dress has a strong effect on how you feel. So why not brighten up your day with some yellow and blue?

Now, for those who are afraid to venture out too far from their primarily black and grey wardrobe (including me!) try adding one element of pop to an outfit, it adds a bit of personality and fun. One of my favorite outfits is a mix of dusty pink with grey (very elegant), and navy and grey (yes, I totally have a thing for the colour grey). Or, if you want to be more subtle, just accessorize with coloured scarves, belts, shoes, and/or jewelry. A yellow scarf and pair of flats looks amazing with a classic black outfit.

If you're bold enough, try mixing colours with colours other than neutrals. One of the strongest colour combos that I've seen is orange and purple. This combo may sound strange, but looks great! Another combo that I've happened to stumble upon is brown and deep purple or yellow. This combo is great for the fall season!

So find which colours look best on you, and pop it!

Gorgeous in Green

It's been a while since the last update. I've been so busy with wedding planning and work that I haven't had time to post on my beloved blog! So I'm taking some me time out today to get my fashion and Stylichic fix.

I was browsing websites and happened to stumble upon this editorial by Tanishq. How gorj are these pics? I especially love the mehndi green colour she's wearing, not to mention the classic skinny gold naath (nose ring).
