Day 4 Picks @ LFW

I swear, the collections keep getting better everyday! My picks for day 4 of Lakme Fashion Week were collections by Babita Malkani and Anita Dongre.

Babita Malkani

Boho-chic is the best way to describe her collection. Flowy and feminine fabrics that sit nicely and comfortably on the body, these pieces are easy to wear and have a definite 'Indian Summer' feel to them. Love how the models are styled, and am already wearing the side braid!

Anita Dongre

Soft pink, ivory, and beige were the colours of this collection. The models looked like Greek goddesses on the runway. Definitely starting to see a trend in many of the collections (other than the colours)- full skirts, gorgeous borders, and elegance.

LFW Pick of the Day

Day 3 of Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2011 brought in new and very different collections. This summer my eye is trending towards brighter colours, tiered skirts, long blouses, and as I mentioned in my previous post, net fabrics! I've posted two of my favorite collections from day 3 of the fashion week below. What will you be wearing this summer?

Shivan & Narresh

This duo is India's first luxury beachwear brand. Love the soft feminine fabrics and bright yet soft colours. Am in love with the pink cropped pants and the pink and red strapless dress!

Manish Malhotra

As always, Manish Malhotra wowed with his gorgeous, classic, and polished collection. Ivory and beige were strong colours in this collection, but loved the punch of blue! We're also seeing lots of net!

And a little something for the ladies... :)

Net and Velvet at Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2011

As many of you know, Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2011 began on March 10 at the Grand Hyatt in Mumbai, India. I love going through the collections from this show because they remind me that summer is on its way! Right now, summer seems so far away in cold and snowy Canada.

So far the fashion week has been colourful, fun, and very feminine. My favorite collection as of today has been by Preeti S Kapoor. This gorgeous collection comprised of everything net, from suits and saris to lenghas. These items were mixed with velvet fabrics and were heavily embroidered in beautiful designs. I absolutely love the contrast of colours that she brought to the stage as well, the grey and red is my favorite!

TT for Timex is a collection of 14 gorgeous jewelled watches that fall into the bridal and ready-to-wear categories. Each piece has Jadau work with precious stones, pearls, and dull gold. I'm loving this, it is such a good keepsake for the wedding!
